This is a 7 weeks lesson that explores the concepts necessary to prepare students to become Medical Billing and Coding professionals. Whether you are just starting out or transitioning into a different field, there has never been a better time to enter the field of Medical Billing and Coding. More than 850,000 practicing physicians in the United States rely on medical billers and coders to receive payment for their services. Aside from medical facilities, positions are available with health insurance companies, pharmacies, medical suppliers, consulting firms, and medical billing companies.
Healthcare workers are in high demand due to the increased medical needs of an aging population and the increased number of Americans qualifying for health insurance. When a professional organization polled physicians in the summer of 2013 to see how they were going to handle the influx of new patients, 60% of the respondents said they were going to hire additional staff.
This offers valuable information in legal, ethical, and regulatory concepts that are central to this field, including HIPAA compliance and third-party guidelines for filing insurance claims. You will learn how to code diagnoses, services, and procedures for all systems of the body.
Upon completion of these lesson modules, you will be able to take the Medical Billing and Coding 1 exam offered by Medical Career Assessments (MedCA). This is entirely online and is completed at your own pace. When you register, you receive an initial (7) weeks to complete. Should you need more time beyond the seven (7) weeks, an extension of seven (7) weeks is available at no additional cost.

Yes, because TEMBC is completely online you never have to actually travel to the facility. We offer online and phone registration.
Our programs are self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start them when you want and finish them at your own pace. It is completely online and is completed at your own pace. When you register, you receive an intial six (6) months to complete the program. Should you need more time beyond the six (6) months, an extension of six months is available at no additional cost.
All the materials you'll need are included, and their cost will be covered by your remittance. TEMBC will ship all materials ground service upon enrollment.
TEMBC test preps are non-credit, so they do not qualify for federal aid.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate of completion. You may sit for the MEDCA certification exam at an additional cost.
TEMBC will provide you with the skills you need to obtain an entry-level position in most cases. We don't provide direct job placement services. Potential students should always do research on the job market in their area before registering.
In order to take our online programs, you must have access to a computer and the Internet. You can access the program contents form any Web-enabled computer. You don't have to use the same computer to log-in to the program every time. We recommend that you have a word-processing program (Microsoft Word is best) and the latest version of Internet Explorer.
